Fecci Appointed Associate Deputy Director, Brain Tumor Center

Peter E. Fecci, MD, PhD, has been appointed associate deputy director of the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center.

“Dr. Fecci has had a highly decorated research career,” wrote David Ashley, MBBS (Hon), FRACP, PhD, Director of The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center, in a recent announcement to faculty. “He has an emerging track record in leadership and administration of research and will be of great assistance to all of us at The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center as we build our future vision.”

Fecci received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in 2007, as well as a PhD from Duke University that same year. He completed his residency in 2013 in neurosurgery at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University and a postdoctoral fellowship at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Fecci joined Duke in 2014 as a neurosurgeon and an assistant professor of neurosurgery and pathology.

In his roles as director of the Duke Brain Tumor Immunotherapy Program and co-director of the Duke Brain and Spine Metastasis Center, he and his teams offer clinical trials offer cutting-edge therapies for primary brain tumors and brain metastasis.

Among his many accolades, Fecci is recipient of the 2015 Sontag Distinguished Scientist Award.
