Butler Joins DCI Human Resources
Elizabeth (Liza) Butler has joined Duke Cancer Institute as Human Resources Manager II, effective August 8. In this role, she will be leading efforts related to recruitment and HR operations, and partnering with DCI staff and managers to meet their human resources needs.
Butler is a certified community interpreter and employment specialist who has extensive experience in talent acquisition, staff development, increasing retention rates, and strengthening community relationships.
Most recently, she served as Program Manager of StepUp Durham and Darkness RISING | REBUILD.

"Liza's efforts drove development and retention of staff, volunteers and clients during the pandemic which resulted in additional funding and participation in the organization’s programs," said chief human resources officer Jeff Chitester, DCI, in a written announcement to DCI faculty and staff welcoming Butler. "She prides herself on creating an organizational culture that promotes continual team engagement and excellent customer service."
