The ability to communicate effectively in challenging interactions is a core leadership skill needed to sustain trust and productivity in an academic environment. Ann Brown, MD, MHS, and Cathie Siders, PhD, will present a workshop on this theme — "Crucial Conversations" — in the Great Hall of the Trent Semans Center, on Friday, June 9, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The workshop will explore critical elements of crucial conversations and will help faculty hone their skills in this area. It will include a discussion of style under stress and the ways in which stress can impact our behavior. This will be an interactive and highly participative session aimed at increasing each participant's confidence in approaching and managing difficult communications.

Who should attend? All are welcome, material will be geared toward School of Medicine faculty.
