DCI's Kirk and Diehl Honored

The Duke Medical Alumni Association honored six highly accomplished alumni and faculty with 2017 Distinguished Awards during Medical Alumni Weekend this November.

Duke Cancer Institute's Allan D. Kirk, MD, and Anna Mae Diehl, MD, were among the awardees.

Kirk, MD’87, PhD’92, HS’87-’95, one of three recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Award, is David C. Sabiston Jr. Professor and chairman, Department of Surgery; a professor in pediatrics and a professor in immunology at Duke University School of Medicine; and surgeon-in-chief, Duke University Health System.

Diehl, one of two recipients of the Distinguished Faculty Award, is Florence McAlister Professor of Medicine at Duke University School of Medicine and director of the Duke Liver Center. She is a professor in pharmacology and cancer cell biology, and a professor in molecular genetics and microbiology.
