The Office of Health Equity (OHE) will host 50 Hoops, a panel discussion on barriers to enrollment in clinical trials, on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Searle Center.
A diverse panel made up of patients, caregivers and community members will anwer questions revolving around barriers to enrollment in clinical trials and will make recommendations on ways to make trials more accessible.
"The 50 Hoops organization collaborated with OHE previously to host Community Advocacy Matchmaking events with The River Church," shared Faiza Mustafa, MPH, health educator with OHE. "That event involved a panel of clinical researchers who shared with an African American audience information on accessing clinical trials. We very much look forward to this next collaboration in which we can address barriers to enrollment."
Registration is not necessary. Refreshments will be served.
