Spike Out Teen Cancer (10.24 & 10.25.20)
UPDATE: Updated Oct. 23 with NEW DATES — Oct. 23 & 25 — and a change in team to Virginia Tech
The Duke University Volleyball Team wants your help in raising awareness about and support for teen and young adult cancer.
The Blue Devils will dedicate their games against Virginia Tech on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, 2020 to support the Duke Cancer Institute's Teen and Young Adult Oncology Program (TYAO).
Supporters can pledge any amount per spike, or make a one-time donation.
Research, care, and support for teen and young adult oncology patients has a very important spot in the hearts of the Duke volleyball family, as one of their former players, Jessi Bartholomew, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in her last semester at Duke. After chemotherapy and radiation, she is now in remission. Throughout her treatment, the support from Duke Athletics and Duke Cancer Institute was overwhelming for Jessi, her family, and friends.
