The Duke University Volleyball Team wants your help in raising awareness about and support for teen and young adult cancer.
The Blue Devils will dedicate their games against the University of North Carolina, Friday, October 22, 2021 and Friday, November 26, 2021 to support the Duke Cancer Institute's Teen and Young Adult Oncology Program (TYAO).
With your support, every spike made by the Blue Devil team during the two UNC games will raise funds for the Duke Cancer Institute's TYAO Program.
Since 2015, First Citizens Bank has prioritized supporting better treatment and building supportive communities for young people facing cancer. This value has led them to partner with Spike Out Cancer in 2021.
This year, First Citizens Bank will double your gift to support this cause. Pledge any amount per spike, or make a one-time donationand it will be doubled up to $10,000.
Research, care, and support for teen and young adult oncology patients has a very important spot in the hearts of the Duke volleyball family, as one of their former players, Jessi Bartholomew, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in her last semester at Duke. After chemotherapy and radiation, she is now in remission.
Throughout her treatment, the support from Duke Athletics and Duke Cancer Institute was overwhelming for Jessi, her family, and friends.
Spike Out Cancer weekend is an awesome chance for you to show your support and raise awareness for other patients like Jessi who are going through tough times.
