Nutrition services are available through the Duke Cancer Institute and are offered to patients and survivors. Our registered dietitian/nutritionists specialize in working with people with cancer, working collaboratively with you to make sure you’re well-nourished throughout your cancer treatment. They help prevent and treat malnutrition, restore digestive health, minimize the side effects of your cancer treatment and work with you in survivorship.

In the video below, Duke Cancer Institute Dietitian Julie Hann, MS, RDN, LDN, CSO, explains the role nutrition plays in cancer treatment, and gives helpful tips and advice.

In the video below, Duke Cancer Institute Clinical Dietitian Carrie Smith, MS, RD, CSO, LDN, who specializes in cancer-specific nutrition, talks about how a plant-based diet is beneficial for cancer survivors, and shares steps for getting started.
