Boswell Named Manager Of Oncology Patient Education

Amy Boswell, MSN, RN, OCN, has been named to serve as manager of the Oncology Patient Education Program.
"As manager, Amy will provide administrative direction for oncology patient education, including managing and coordinating the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient education materials for oncology services," said Kim Slusser, MSN, RN, CHPN, NEA-BC, assistant vice president, chief of Oncology Nursing Services, Duke Cancer Institute.
Boswell first joined Duke University Hospital in 2003. Most recently, from 2015 to 2017, Boswell served as director of Clinical Affiliations at Maria Parham Medical Center for the Duke Cancer Network. From 2009 to 2015, she directed areas within Oncology Services at Duke University Hospital.
Boswell received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 2002. She received her Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification in 2005, and completed her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree at Duke University in 2009. She is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS). She served as membership chair of the local chapter from 2012 to 2013. In 2014 Boswell received one of Duke University Health System's Friends of Nursing awards, the Florence O’Keefe Award for Excellence in Oncology Nursing Practice.
Boswell will assume her new role on May 14.
