Prepare To Shine, Superstar

Michael B. Kastan, MD, PhDMichael B. Kastan, MD, PhDFor the first time ever, Duke Cancer Institute will present DCI Superstar Awards in person at cancer centers in Durham and Wake County. In the past, the awards have been presented at an annual celebration held at the flagship cancer center in Durham.

“To better reach all DCI faculty and staff, this year we are going on the road to present the award to winners in the presence of their co-workers,” said Michael B. Kastan, MD, PhD, executive director, Duke Cancer Institute. “I will visit cancer institute sites to present our prestigious DCI Superstar Award to some of our most deserving employees.”

Supervisors and colleagues are encouraged to nominate exceptional faculty and staff for the coveted DCI Superstar Achievement Award. Superstars should excel within their area of service, going above and beyond on a regular basis. Each winner will be announced at a special party to be held in November at the workplace of the award recipient.

“We hope everyone will team up with us to put the spotlight on Duke Cancer Institute’s most deserving faculty and staff,” said LeAnn Hinson, RN, MSN, divisional chief human resources officer, Duke Cancer Institute. "This is a shining opportunity to recognize employees and colleagues who have gone above and beyond in support of Duke cancer."

Superstar nominations are due to Corinne Grodski, HR specialist, by Friday, Sept. 28. Nominations can be submitted via email by an individual or team.
