Al-Hashimi Receives NAS Award in Molecular Biology

Hashim Al-HashimiHashim Murtadha Al-Hashimi, PhD, James B. Duke Professor of Biochemistry, has received the 2020 National Academy of Sciences Award in Molecular Biology for pioneering studies into RNA and DNA function on the atomic level.

The award is supported by Pfizer Inc. and recognizes a recent notable discovery by a young scientist under the age of 45 who is a citizen of the United States. It comes with a medal and a $25,000 prize.
