Tidwell Named Director of Operations

Lisa Tidwell, MHA, FACHE, was recently named director of operations for Oncology Services at Duke University Hospital (DUHS).

"In her new role, Lisa will provide overall administrative direction and coordination for the operational and financial management of oncology services at DUH for our ambulatory and inpatient operations," said Kim Slusser, MSN, RN, CHPN, NEA-BC, assistant VP/chief of Oncology Nursing Services, Duke Cancer Institute. "Lisa comes to us with a wealth of healthcare and oncology operations and administrative experience."

Prior to returning to Duke, Tidwell was on-staff at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where she spent the past 10 years in various leadership positions. Previously, Tidwell served as program coordinator at Duke Eye Center.

"It is an honor to be welcomed back to the Duke community, and I am excited to share perspectives from my recent experiences in health care management and administration," said Tidwell, who, although a native of Tennessee, grew up in North Carolina. "I look forward to building collaborations that operationalize the vision and strategy for Oncology Services at Duke University Hospital."

Tidwell received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and a Master of Healthcare Administration degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She is member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and a Fellow with the American College of Health Care Executives.
