Just ahead of Colon Cancer Awareness Month (March), The Connection Place, Inc. and the North Carolina Female Pastors Fellowship Group is spearheading an event on preventing stomach and colon cancers — “The Gut Patrol" — on Feb. 17 at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. Duke Cancer Institute is a partner in the event.
Panelists include Duke GI physician Julius Wilder, MD, PhD; DCI GI oncologist Katherine Garman, MD, and DCI epidemiologist Meira Epplein, MD. Garman and Epplein are co-leaders of the NCI-designated Cancer Risk, Detection and Interception (CRDI) Research Program at Duke.
