Ready, Set, CRUSH!
The Crush Colorectal Cancer 5K raises community awareness and funds for colorectal cancer research at the Duke Cancer Institute.
According to the American Cancer Society, colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers in the United States. More than 140,000 people are diagnosed with colon or rectal cancer, and over 50,000 people die from the disease every year. Recent advances have significantly contributed to improvements in screening and treatment, and have resulted in a growing population of colorectal cancer survivors.
However, colorectal cancer remains a significant public health concern, and DCI's multidisciplinary Gastrointestinal Oncology Program is dedicated to patient care and raising public awareness. Be part of a meaningful event where patients, families, medical staff, volunteers, and supporters come together to celebrate walkers and runners. Explore community partner exhibits and take advantage of available home-based screenings for those who meet screening criteria.
