Coping Together-2 (Cancer Support)

What is the Purpose of this Study?

We are doing this study to see whether programs are helpful for couples where one partner has cancer.

What is the Condition Being Studied?

Breast, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary or Lung cancer.

Who Can Participate in the Study?

Adults ages 18+ who are currently married or in a committed intimate relationship, live in the same home as their spouse/partner, and have one of the following medical diagnoses:

  • Stage IIIB or IV non-small cell lung cancer
  • Extensive stage small cell lung cancer
  • Stage IV GU cancer
  • Stage IV breast cancer
  • GI cancer Stage IV

What is Involved?

If you choose to join this study, you and your spouse/partner will:

  • Have six, 1 hour video-conference sessions which will be scheduled at your convenience in the comfort of your home
  • Complete 4 assessments which include surveys and a video recorded 10-minute conversation between you and your spouse/partner about a cancer-related topic of your choosing

*For most people, it will take 4 to 6 months to complete this study.
